Terms & conditions (buying a registration mark)

General:

Our services include the transfer of the registration mark to a vehicle or, if you prefer, the mark can be supplied on a DVLA certificate showing your chosen nominee name.

The receiving vehicle must be registered on the UK mainland, taxed and have a MOT certificate if applicable. (Transfers to vehicles registered in Northern Ireland are possible but additional charges will apply - please contact us for more info).

If you are purchasing a mark which includes a year letter or numeric year identifier it cannot be put on a vehicle if it makes that vehicle appear younger. It is against the law to miss space or misrepresent the letters/figures on your number plates (for more information see our FAQs).

If you have any questions on any issues please refer to our FAQs; if you are still unsure, please contact us before you enter into a transaction.

Payment terms:

Part payment of £150 required when you order; balance payable by cheque or by direct transfer to our bank account.

Full payment is due within 2 weeks of us invoicing you (unless otherwise arranged). We will provide you with a copy of the certificate of title with the invoice.

If full payment is not received within the agreed time we reserve the right to cancel the sale and retain the part payment.

We reserve the right to quote amended terms for any transaction (prior to acceptance of an order) but you will not be bound by any amended terms unless you agree to accept them.

We cannot guarantee to hold any number (or price) until an initial payment has been received.

Refund:

A refund will only be given in the following circumstances.

A refund will be given on request, if we are not in a position to submit a transfer within 14 days of us receiving full payment plus all requested documents/information from the buyer unless any of the following apply:

  • We are waiting for documentation to come from (or be returned by) DVLA
  • Failure is due to the action of (or lack of action by) the buyer
  • There is a fault/problem with the documents or information supplied by the buyer

In a refund situation the full amount of our liability will be limited to a refund of the total amount paid to us by the buyer.

Cancellation or exchange:

Orders for registration marks cannot be cancelled (or registrations changed) once an order is accepted by us.

As you will not receive physical goods we consider that the supply of a registration mark is a service rather than goods and the right to cancel is therefore the same as would apply to a service. Once performance of a service has begun with the buyer's agreement the buyer is not able to cancel. On acceptance of your order and with your agreement our service will commence with the withdrawn of the mark from general sale. To give your agreement simply accept our terms and conditions.

It should be noted that you will not have the same rights to cancel the contract under the terms of the Distance Selling Regulations as may apply in the case of some contracts concluded at a distance.

Our liability:

We shall not be liable for delays or failures caused by the actions of (or lack of action by) any third party including Royal Mail and DVLA

We will arrange the transfer of the registration that you have purchased to a vehicle at the time of purchase or supply the registration on a certificate showing you (or a person of your choice) as nominee; in either event our contract with you will then be deemed to be satisfactorily concluded. We shall not be liable for subsequent losses of any kind that you may incur including loss due to the withdrawal of the registration by the Secretary of State/DVLA ( for whatever reason), changes in current legislation or loss because a certificate expires.

If we supply the registration on a certificate it must be assigned to a vehicle registered in the same name as the nominee before the certificate expires. Certificates have a maximum life of 12 months from the date they were issued - not from when you order - and can only be renewed by us (not the nominee). It is the buyer's sole responsibility to ensure that the number is assigned to a vehicle before the certificate expires or to arrange renewal through us for a further 12 months (current fee £10 + VAT + DVLA fee £25). You must make your own diary note and not rely on us to remind you!

Availability/price amendments:

All registrations are offered for sale subject to current availability and price confirmation.

We shall not be bound by any price displayed or quoted until we confirm that your order has been accepted (confirmation that your initial payment/order has been received does nor constitute acceptance). If a price has altered (or a price is quoted or displayed incorrectly) and the new (or correct) price is higher the transaction will not proceed without our joint agreement.

The above terms & conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
